First off, if you are replacing tires, get THREE (3) spoons, it makes the entire process of tire removal/installation so much simpler. With just two spoons you are constantly fighting the bead popping back on/off as you go the spoon nearly. Three, NO SUCH PROBLEM. Check YouTube for details.

Fantastic quality tool, Motion Pro branded. Solid metal construction, no plastic or other stuff to break, crack, or ship. Rounded edges reduce any marring of your rims.

Buy three tire spoons, take small bites, Development 4, 2014

I recently replaced my own dirtbike style tire for the first time with these spoons, “1.7 tire mounting lube”, baby powder, and a “bead buddy II.” First, watch a video by Dunlop on Youtube about 10 times to learn the process. Then pull your valve stem core and have at it. The baby powder helps keep your tube protected and slippery. The tire mounting lube was helpful when mounting but crucial when seating the bead on the tire. A tire stand would be nice it you are frequently changing tires but I get about 3K miles per tire on my dual-sport so I will continue to live without a tire stand.

I really like this fastidious wrench. I had one prior to this order and chose to order two more for a set of three in whole. By using three of these and taking small bites it really makes changing tires a snap. I just finished mounting up new tires on the bike after these spoons arrived and wish I had bought some more sooner. What I like about them is the spoon is thin enough to slip in straightforwardly and the lip bites well without pinching the tube. For me, warm tires, a small lube and multiple spoons is the key to unadorned tire changes. That and keeping the far end of the tire in the rim recess. ;-)
