   Nice holder, but hard to find a gas can to fit., February 3, 2012

   This mount locks in straightforwardly, but I haven’t found a close fit for the gas can, they should raise the price $20 and include a matching can and straps. If anyone recognizes this can and knows where to get one, please drop me a note. The mount and can fit nicely next to a polaris trunk mounted in the bed.

   Polaris no longer offers fuel can!, July 30, 2014

   The mount itself is a really fantastic thought. The instructions are clear, concise, and add…that the mount is “made specifically for the Polaris 2.5-gallon fuel can PN#…..”. The mount inside measures 9″ x 12″. What Polaris fails to tell you is that they NO LONGER OFFER, since at least 2009, the fuel can that properly fits the mount. For what they charge for parts, they should at least have the morality to tell you that parts are not available. Luckily, I was able to find a 2.5-gallon can at Holz Racing that measured 8″ x 11.25″. Not what I wanted or thought I would get, but it’ll do. Otherwise, I would not recommend this item to anyone!!
   One other suggestion that I received from a previous owner of this type mount, place it on the driver’s side…not on the passenger side. Apparently the bottom of the bed gets very hot from the exhaust manifold, which is directly below the passenger side where this item would mount. I personally don’t have any experience with it, but it made sense, so I went it!

   Colorado powersports was very simple to deal with friendly employees and the product is very well built heavy duty but the front peg is 1/4 inch off from fitting in the hole you could probably hog out the hole and make it work.
