Fantastic Quality, Simple Install,
The install would have taken approximately 20 minutes, but my set was missing one of the cone shaped nuts that go with the anchor assembly that mounts inside the handle bar end. A trip to home depot, another $2.50, and I was back in affair (A 6mm nut, and a brass compression sleeve from the plumbing section worked rather well).
I did rotate my levers down some for clearance, but if I don’t like them that way, I could cut the balls off the end of the levers and rotate them back up.
Because they look so excellent on the bike, and because of the exceptional quality (not so excellent quality control), I subdue give them 5 stars.
I have them installed on a 2005 KLR 650. I’ve added some pics to the product page.

Excellent for the price,
In this setup (levers pointing maybe 30 degrees down from horizontal) and with the guards pointing straight horizontal, these guards mount up nicely and the levers clear without being trimmed (as they come up and in from the bottom).
The aluminum is thick and stout. The plastic parts are not removable (well, you could cut them off, but they aren’t going back on), and the plastic is a bit soft. So while they will probably show some wear quickly, they won’t break, and if I go down I’ll keep my hands on the bars with confidence. The plastic and aluminum parts look like they will also give excellent hand protection if a hubcap comes frisbeeing across the center line and hits my bars previous to I can get a hand out of the way.
The plastic guards are smaller than other brands, which IMHO is excellent. That way they don’t get too hot during the summer. The larger guards aren’t huge enough to keep you warm in the winter, but are huge enough to make it too hot in the summer, so I like a smaller guard.
I really used these on my Buell Ulysses.

OK for the price,
No instructions
A small cheaply made
The slot in that goes into the handle bar to hold the end on does not expand far enough to really secure it and it is made of aluminum and week. It is also not wide enough to enable the brush guard to not interfer with the throtle handle. (1999 Yamaha XT 350 stock bars) In order to assess this a lathe is usefull in order to cut a spacer and an adapter but you can make due with some washers and a rigged up cut of rubber and a new nut and bolt.
One of the hex head bolts was misformed on the head and needed to be replaced.
The Excellent:
Hand guards themselves are nice and the aluminum bar that is in them makes them sturdy
They look excellent
The price is right(maybe not after fixing flaw)
After the mounting issue was solved they seem to provide excellent protection for your hands.
My bottom line: If you want to save a few buck and can spend some time correcting the mounting flaws on the handle bar ends then these should be fine. If you are a small more economically blessed then get a name brand set and save the hassle.
