Best Fitting Knee Braces and I’ve had them all, October 28, 2013

I had the original Cell, EVS Web, and a few others, these are the best by far. The BOA fit system is simple and the braces fit surpass than any that use straps. They don’t slide down and feel very secure and comfortable while riding. I have a replaced left hip and a repaired right knee and I wouldn’t trust my skill to ride to any other brace. Well done! One gripe is that the manual says very visibly that the warranty is void if bought on Amazon. That’s a bummer, but I’ve never had a warranty claim with any brace, so I’ll take my chances.

No on paper instructions, company is more interested in CYA liability than delivering a excellent product!, Development 3, 2012

I recently bought a new pair of Asterisk Ultra Cell Knee Braces for skiing. So far I am not at all impressed. Save your money, lots of money! Firstly, there are no on paper instructions on how to adjust the knee brace for things like lockout angle, and hyper-extension prevention, in fact, I am not 100% the Ultra has these adjustments. The instructions have a few pages of liability wordage and warranty wordage, then a series of illustrations that frankly do not cut it for adjustment, tuning the brace for your fit and needs. The illustrations do not have any words either. Yes, the instruction manual is multilingual and perhaps Asterisk wanted to save paper…, I really reckon their lawyers told them not place down any instructions for use in writing, so they could not get sued later.

These braces have a new BOA lacing system like snowboard boots and many other devices. That seems to be the huge “new” thing with the Ultra, huge deal. The braces also tend to slip down on me legs, even when I have them very tight. I do not feel like they give much more support than my previous cheap knee braces with metal pivot points on each side of the knee and a bar. I will see how well Asterisk’s refund policy is. Their warranty card says that if you buy these from eBay or Amazon the warrant is void.

    Very uncomfortable, September 13, 2013

Very miserable. I have not wore this even once because they were very uncomfortable. I do believe but it is because they are one size too small (which i would be willing to exchange for a larger size) but amazon won’t let me exchange them for a larger size, claiming the time to return has passed.
They are groundbreaking new, it’s a shame I can’t use them, they are very expensive I wish I could subdue exchange them for a larger size from MEDIUM to LARGE.
