Obviously a high quality product. Nice construction and end detail. Comes in a heavy zip-lock storage bag with very clear installation instructions.

The stock photo currently on the Amazon Product page makes the seat look tapered or somewhat triangular. Not to worry. The photo is distorted, but this is a unadorned rectangular 6″x10″ pad, properly curved for a huge tire fender. A heavy naugahyde type cover (looks like black leather), thin padding inside, 6 high quality dual-cavity suction cups (with release help tabs on the edge) hold it down. The underneath part that touches your bike (other than the suction cups) is a non-slip neoprene material (somewhat foam-like), and as long as it’s sterile (which the instructions warn you of) I don’t see any way it could scratch your bike.

My first step was to clip the cloth tag off the trailing edge, then ready to install . . . .

Goes on/off in just seconds (which is the whole thought of buying this). Nice looking construction — nothing fancy, but unadorned and well constructed was what I was looking for. Looks super on the bike. Hugs the fender and maintains the low profile of my slammed V-Star. Exactly what I was looking for.

Not the most comfortable ride in the world, but that’s not the seat I sit on. My grandsons don’t mind at all. As far as the ladies, this tends to scare the fatties away and will keep the other ones away from long rides. Exact. The first chick that commented on it called it a “Depends” — but I reckon it was her way of persuasive a ride, and a minute later she was meeting on it breezing nearly the block (with no complaints). The alternative is meeting on a shop towel laid on the fender . . . or walking. This small gem also provides a nice base so that items bungee corded on behind me do not slip nearly or scratch the fender.

I had originally plotted to use this seat only when needed, but it looks so excellent and not easily seen that I’ve just left it on all the time. On longer trips when I clip my saddlebags on, this seat will straightforwardly store into one of the bags (if I wish).

This fastidious offering was the best price I found anywhere on a genuine Phantom 301LP. There are some copies out there, but the Phantom is place together and finished very well, and not really that expensive, so I recommend just going with this one.

    Hard to beat this one.

This review is from: Phantom Pad 302LP Generous Low Profile Pad (Automotive)
I was skeptical at first giving it is a suction cup attachment. i have a 2007 sportster 1200 and it covers the fender nicely on the wide side and part is excellent as well, gives room to go back and forth without hitting fender. my lady hasn’t complained about it being too thin in any direction. would recommend buying for long term use. suction does hold and takes a small pressure to take out but doesn’t scratch the paint!
