This review is from: Men’s Black Tri-Tex Fabric Level-3 Armored Dirt bike Jacket – Size : 2XL
I just received my new dirt bike jacket, and am pleased overall. The fabric is very rough and will hopefully soften as I wear it, and the armor plating is bestow but not overly bulky. There are plenty of zippers (some pockets, some ventilation), but I am not a fan of the zipper pulls and will probably take out the ones on the chest at the very least.
Make sure to measure your chest previous to you order. Here’s the sizing chart I used: XS/30, S/32-34, M/36-38, L/40-42, XL/44-46, 2XL/48-50, 3XL/52-54, 4XL/56, 5XL/58. Make sure to add 2″ to your measurement and order the corresponding size. My chest is 46″, so I added 2″ to get 48″ and ordered a 2XL, and it fits very well! The only adjustable snaps on the sleeves are a nice touch mainly if you take out the zip out lining. There is an elastic cuff at the wrist that make for a nice snug fit at the ends of the sleeve. There are also velcro adjustments at the waist, wrists, and neck for a more form fitting jacket.
Even with the lining in place, I don’t see this a a cold weather jacket. Maybe if you wore a thermal underneath it would be warm enough, but with the snug fit I can’t imagine a hoodie fitting very well.
I feel much safer learning to ride with the jacket on!

    A excellent buy., April 21, 2010

I recently added this mesh jacket to my motorcycling gear. I needed something for summertime city riding. Air flow is fantastic and that’s what I wanted it for. As for it being hot while meeting in transfer, I can’t imagine whatever thing being cool while meeting in the middle of a hot roadway, on a hot bike in the middle of summer. Even nude would be hot. At least this jacket gives you more protection than going without. I know, last July I met the pavement at 30 mph in a small sleeve shirt. Had I had on a jacket like this, I would be wearing fewer scars today. Bottom line, a well made jacket with enough airflow through it for summer riding. But, even with the liner, 50-60 degrees is about the limit for cool weather comfort. Also, buy one size larger that habitual. They tend to run small.

Unfortunately the jacket arrived a couple days after I got rear-finished on my CBR so I can’t review the saftey features of the jacket. I commute nearly 2 hours a day and found the jacket to be quite comfortable. It has plenty of adjustments to make it snug no matter what you are wearing underneath. I very much like the sleeve adjustments. It’s simple to make the sleeves tight for those occasional runs of 100+ mph (no, I’m not condoning breaking the speed limit).
