I get more than 15,000 miles out of these tires. Smooth and well-balanced with predictable grab in cornering. I have Pilot Road II’s on a 1990 Honda VFR with 125,800 miles. They are by far the best. Since I don’t track my bike, I feel the Pilot Road II is a surpass value than Pilot III. The only negative is that they are more susceptible to pressure differences due to temperature changes. I check them 2-3 times a month.

    PR2s – fantastic tires, August 17, 2013

With over 43,000 miles on my ’09 Kawasaki Concours 1400, traversing the back roads and, sometimes, very quick roads of Sonoma and Napa Counties, CA, I reckon I can afford to say that these are fantastic tires. I am on my 5th rear and typically get about 10,000 miles on them and 4th front (more miles on the front for some wits). For two winters I rode all-weather. Last winter was my first time really avoiding the wet–for the wife. Never had any slip and slide–ultra-reliable tires and bike. Have never tried the PR3s–have not had wits to spend the extra money.

I have these tires on my Triumph Speed Triple. I am very pleased with the performance and longevity of this tire. The bike comes with the Metzler Sportec(s) which is a excellent tire, but too soft for commuting….fantastic for the track though. My second set was the Pirelli Corsa III. Those tires were fantastic for about 4 months…yep, had to lose those after 3000 miles…that’s ridiculous. I tried these Pilot’s and this set has lasted longer than the previous 2 sets combined. I got about 8000 miles on these…but I’m approaching it now. I just bought these again and I would recommend these for any rider at any skill level. They will not disappoint you. I wouldn’t but recommend these for track days….get yourself a seperate set of tires for that. You don’t want to burn these up….you don’t always get what you pay for…but with these, you will. Don’t let the sport touring category fool you…these are game for what most of us can throw at them…
