With Velcro to Bind them all, November 21, 2011

If you ever feel the need to look, and be as armored as, Sauron when you ride, then these are the gloves for you.

Okay sure, the helmet would be tough, but at least you can have his hands!
The gloves fit quite snugly, which is a excellent thing. No slipping and chaffing, which is no fun at all when you are trying to hold onto the handlebars.

The leather/carbon plates go slickly, feeling substantial, but not confining. A tough negotiate with hand armor, since it needs to protect, but it is nice to subdue be able to go your hand. I haven’t taken a fall with these, I am not *that* dedicated to these reviews! But they will certainly protect from basic shock and abrasion. These will not keep your fingers from splaying sideways or bending backwards, honestly I haven’t seen much that will. But the leather means your palms will be saved a bit of shock, and if you were to go over the handlebars, the backs of your hands are decently protected from brush, glass, etc. that hits you on the back of the hand.

The only drawbacks from the construction are also benefits, depending on what you use them for. They are made of leather with a hook/loop fastener wrist. Not quite gauntlet style, the cuffs are long enough to overlap a jacket sleeves, but don’t expect a water/wind tight seal with the hook/loop fastener. Also, leather is excellent for wind and minor abrasion protection, not cold weather protection. Since the glove armor is somewhat bulky, you really cannot place these inside of another glove, and since they fit snugly, getting a glove liner inside of them might be tough. Not really what they were designed for anyway, but just thought I’d mention it for those who ride in cold weather. Like or protection?
If you don’t mind your hands being as cold as your icy black heart, then ride forth and crush your enemies with the one right gloves!

This review is from: Decade Motorsport Street Gloves (Black and Gray, Generous/X-Generous) (Automotive)
I normally take size 10 or XL, so I ordered XL and they fit me nicely, a small snug but that’s OK
I’m not normally a fan of ventilated gloves as they never seem to work that well in summer, and are too cold for winter, these are pretty excellent, all though it takes some finger flexing while riding to get the full benefit of the airflow.
Nicely padded, and with the inclusion of wrist padding (uncommon on gloves this cheap) and finger and thumb tip padding they are really excellent value.
Articulated 4 in 1 knuckle shield wraps nicely in habitual riding position, and the soft suede on the palm is comfortable.
I didn’t rate the “palm gel padding” as it’s pretty non existent, and you subdue get some trembling feedback and cramping on longer rides, but overall I gave them 4 stars. Stood up OK in the rain with smallest seepage, may be bulky for some riders, but I like the extra protection. 4 stars

Snug and safe, June 1, 2011

These gloves are incredible. They are certainly on the snug side, but they are meant to be tight. The combination of fabrics makes for a very unique and highly effective glove. It is trying to see from the photo but there are some pads on the outside of the wrist, and the unique style of cuff makes it so that you can straightforwardly get in and out of the gloves without having to adjust the velcro, and yet when wearing them they are snug and secure. Highly recommend them for extra protection on the road.
