I was forced to replace my rear tire while on a tour on the Blue Crumple Parkway. I was limited to what I could find within about 20-30 miles, and the Shinko 009 Raven was the only option (and in a too-small 180/55-17 for my 2008 Kaw C14). After a bit of break in I realized what a fantastic tire the 009 was…and even liked the “shorter wheelbase” kinda feel of the smaller tire. So when the front went, I chose to try one. It works fantastic for me; does everything I want it to do performance wise (and I do scrape the pegs from time to time), is fantastic in the rain (which worked out this past season), and so far the rear has worn very well. Not too rough over bumps, not too terrible a trend to follow rain grooves. I never thought I’d like a Shinko tire, coming from Pirellis and Avons, but why pay more? To impress? These tires do everything I question of them, and last well in the process.

I like these tires. They are not cheap, they are affordable and last many times longer than your stock tires.
I ride to dragon and do not trailer or haul my bike so I want tires that can last lost longer on highway straights. My Angels started to show cords with thick rubber subdue on the sides. These tires can do long hauls and you can ride canyons confidently.
It’s not the most stickiest tire but if you don’t ride extremely leaned over, hanging off your butt all the time then you probably don’t need any other tire. These do the job right and they last longer. Lower prices does not always mean cheap quality

000 miles its cupped pretty naughtily and there are control issues, November 19, 2014

When this tire was first place on I could barely control the front tire. I tartan to make sure it was balanced and it was. I concluded that the groove in the middle had such sharp edges that it inhibited the tire from turning. After it was broken in it was rideable. Now after 11,000 miles its cupped pretty naughtily and there are control issues. Will never buy again. The rear tire version of this tire is fantastic, but.
