A fantastic value,
This isn’t my first pair of deerskin gloves and they probably won’t be my last either. I’m always pretty hesitant to buy gloves online because size is an vital factor. I could go to a store and try on a hundred different gloves and subdue not find a pair that unquestionably fits my needs. As soon as I opened the box and tried these on my worries were washed away. They fit perfectly.
For some the affect may be a turn off. They are bright bright yellow. Not neon of course but they are certainly not tactical by any means. And for my uses that’s fine.
Other reviewers have confirmed how this product has rough edges and what not. This is right, but for the price of these gloves as well as my proposed uses a few rough edges has never bothered me.
As for the comfort. These gloves are soft. Nearly like a plush leather. I’m sure this will deteriorate over time but I know how to take care of leather to keep it looking groundbreaking new for years so once again not a problem. I would recommend treating these with a rain and stain proofing agent to not only make them water proof which is a necessity for some, and so you don’t spill coffee or something on them and end up which hideous blotches all over it.
Any person who has worn deerskin knows It is the warmest of all leathers. These gloves are no exception. Now I don’t mean I’d go trekking in 0 degree weather with only these but for 20 and above even with partial clouds here in Colorado they’ve kept my hands very comfortable without any other liners or warmers.
If you’re like my and you get a pair that fits unquestionably exact then worrying about dexterity is no problem. I’ve been able to reach into my pocket and feel nearly for my multitool pull it out, and deploy any of the tools with ease. And no I don’t use a leatherman oht.
They are assembled in China and I know some people may not like that. But I have had copious things that were made in China that have surprised me. Oddly enough these have held up surpass than a pair of handmade deerskin gloves that I picked up in Maine for about twice the price of these. So maybe I got lucky on these. Not sure. I just know these are pretty well made.
Mine are stitched together with a nylon string. And I know some people have complained about fraying strings and loose threads. That’s the beauty of nylon but. Take a lighter to it and melt it down and the plastic thread melts, sticks and hardens. This makes field repairs a breeze if need be.
Over all for the price of these gloves you could do a lot worse. But for paying only pennies compared to my last pair which crumbled pretty much I’d say these are a fantastic deal.
Also if you feel the need to change the affect there are copious ways to die leather and you can straightforwardly change these to a gorgeous chocolate affect like I did and they’re subdue cheaper than the carhartt versions.
For colder weather throw on a pair of liners and these and you’re excellent to go without sacrificing any dexterity in your fingers.
