Customer Review

I bought these to replace my SixSixOne Riot knee pads. The EVO knee pads are a lot more flexible than the Riots, but not as flexible as less-protective thin pads that are usually made from layers of neoprene. I also like how the EVO’s go on faster/easier than other knee pads I’ve used/tried, thanks to the single upper thigh strap that’s secured by velcro. The extra padding on the sides of the knee pad offer more security against bumping the side of your leg on rocks, tree branches, etc. These are considered “soft shell” pads, which mean they don’t use a hard molded plastic cup for protection. However, the D3O pad inside the EVOs are pre-curved and shaped perfectly for the knee area. One cool feature I did notice on the EVO’s is that the D3O pad insert can be removed easily from the inside – a good feature when it’s time to wash the pads. Finally, the Kevlar material used on the outside area feels really tough and should fair well against abrasion. If I have a mishap where these pads take a hit, I’ll update this post (hopefully never!)
